Daily UI Design Challenges

I create designs outside of work - sometimes as freelance engagements, and other times for the love of the craft. I participate in the Daily UI Design Challenge, which prompts designers with daily tasks meant to teach new skills.

Design QA

I have led website design QA efforts for a total of sixteen websites over the course of six years. Efforts include:

• Leading the design and front-end development teams, ensuring that designs are correctly implemented

• Facilitating daily stand-up meetings to discuss progress

• Presenting in-progress designs to the client and documenting feedback

• Collaborating with the UI and UX teams

• Managing cross-browser and multi-device testing efforts, comparing developed website with client-approved designs

Spec Documents

I regularly combine my knowledge of user experience and technology with my ability to communicate clearly by building Functional and Image Specifications via inDesign.

These specifications are typically 40-pages in length or more, and have multiple audiences. They serve as the blueprint for the development team, but also as documentation for the client's marketing team. They must be very detailed, yet easy to digest. Activities include:

• Sketching layouts, then creating via inDesign

• Collaborating with developers, strategists and designers to understand proposed functionality

• Capturing client feedback, flagging risks, and implementing updates efficiently Work samples available upon request.
